Scope of Responsibility
The Data Management Specialist reports to the Director, Technical Support & Training and is responsible for these key areas:
- Primary focus will be the guidance and customer-site activities (when required) to obtain, analyze, and configure data sources during the data transfer implementation process.
- Provide technical and application support during implementations, including creation of data transfer templates, code mapping and translations, databases, code lists, etc. Technical assistance provided through telephone, email and remote support activities.
- Provide technical and application expertise to sales, including customer requirements gathering, hardware review, source file requirements, and program functionality.
- Responsible for maintaining familiarity with medical coding systems commonly used in healthcare databases, and providing updated information to software developers as coding standards change.
- Produce internal and external documentation as required, for example procedures, and other technical knowledge base articles.
- Contribute to cross-functional teams involved in the new product development process, including requirements definition, prototype review and software testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Informatics, Information Management or related degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a data management, software support medical informatics or healthcare IT support role
- Two or more years experience in a customer-facing role required, preferably in the health care industry.
- Experience working with surgical, lab and/or pharmacy data.
- Must be well organized, have high level of attention to detail, and high level of accuracy (spelling, grammar)
- Must have the ability to focus on detailed information for extended periods of time.
- Must have a high level of customer focus and an ability to effectively work with external customers.
- Must be proficient in both written and oral communications.
- Must be able to manage projects from beginning to end (support entire implementation process).
- Knowledge of Infection Prevention highly desirable
Compensation
Base Target - $60K-$68K
Travel
15-20%
