Scope of Responsibility

The Group Marketing Director, Infectious Disease:  Responsible for assessing groups within company relative to the overall Healthcare IT market opportunity.  Responsible and accountable for product line strategy development, market development, product development, portfolio planning, portfolio life cycle management, operational marketing, portfolio profitability and talent management.  Directs allocated resources and secures commitment of required resources to enable development and execution of the Informatics business plan.  Works very closely with Regional marketing teams to ensure cohesive strategy development and tactical implementation.  Works closely and collaboratively with other Infectious Disease Focus Areas to create synergistic strategies and unique customer value propositions.

Specifically, this position will include the following key areas:

  • Responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial performance of the Informatics Focus Area. Leads annual planning process to define and communicate global strategic, product development and operational direction for the Informatics Focus Area, and directs and manages multifunctional resources to accomplish business objectives.
  • Creates and implements a robust Informatics strategy as a core component of the overall company's infectious disease global strategy.  Defines program priorities, leads market development and drives sales execution. Works closely with Dir.of Strategic Marketing to define long term direction
  • Works closely and collaboratively with the HAI Focus Area
  • Works closely with Regional and Functional leaders to ensure global alignment and execution of strategy and resources.
  • Leads the effort to define portfolio, identify innovations, and execute new product introductions and line extensions, including life cycle management and Sustaining Engineering (Quality Aggressor) of products
  • Drives business growth through innovation and quality, ensuring compliance with systems.  (e.g., S&OP, Global Product Development system, Quality/Regulatory, etc )
  • Accountable for achievement of financial goals and expense budgets.  Directly accountable for US performance, and responsible for supporting Regions in achievement of their financial goals.  Develops annual and quarterly product line revenue projections for the US business.
  • Ensures global technical support for customer issues related to the Informatics Focus Area including cross sub-unit priorities such as informatics, remote diagnostics, etc.
  • Drives understanding of Global customer knowledge and needs around ID Informatics.
  • Responsible for routine communication to the ID organization regarding Informatics strategy, progress towards objectives, and global/regional sales and financial performance.
  • Establish/build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (instrument companies, customers, professional organizations) as necessary to support business objectives.
  • Maintains, interprets and applies key market data including regional category shares and competitive analysis
  • Responsible for Talent Management within the Informatics Marketing team.  Ensures effective implementation of “Global Marketing Powerhouse” processes into routine marketing operations and thinking, ensuring all marketing associates are trained, embrace these methods and demonstrate the skills required for GMPH.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science required; Advanced Degree (e.g., MBA) preferred. 

  • MANDATORY Minimum of 10 years progressive international marketing leadership experience in Healthcare IT
  • MANDATORY Minimum of 5 years demonstrated effective P&L and/or budget management. 
  • Successful track record of leading marketing teams. 
  • MUST HAVE working knowledge of international diagnostics business, including finance, strategic planning, strategic marketing and sales, product development, life cycle management, operations, and logistics.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time is expected (marketing functional and product development)

 Compensation

  • Base Target -               $155K - $170K+

  • Bonus Target -             25% (or $38K - $43K) tied to individual and corporate goals

  • Stock Options-             Long term incentive plan includes stock and Stock Appreciation    Rights (SARs) that vest over 3 and 4 years respectively.   

 

 Travel

  • ~25%+ (periodic travel to Austin, TX;  field visits, etc.)
