Position Title: Marketing Communications Manager

Scope of Responsibility

 

The Communications Manager for Hospital Services is responsible to ensure thorough execution of short and long term strategic and tactical marketing plans to exceed the Hospital Marketing and Sales Strategic Plan. 

  • Successfully develop an integrated marketing communication strategy to support the launch of new testing services and new diagnostic products, develop internal and external notification programs, develop value proposition presentation and training materials for field sales organization and company.
  • Manage existing and negotiate new vendor relationships as appropriate.
  • Develop advertising plan to include ad development and placement schedule to maximize exposure to target market and quality lead generation. Track leads and lead quality from lead generation through customer decision to purchase and revenue generation.
  • Draft promotional advertising, brochures and flyers for new Diagnostic products and update appropriate marketing tools, including catalog and technical sheets.
  • Establish annual budgets for personal expenses and marketing communications materials. Achieve stated marketing objectives within budget.
  • Identify industry trade shows and recommend level of participation. Attend key trade shows and scientific seminars in order to keep current with scientific developments and emerging market needs.
  • Develop and implement an annual survey of clients for the Reference Laboratory and Diagnostics to measure satisfaction with our services.  Analyze survey results and recommend action items to improve the company image.
  • Coordinate with graphic design and printing vendors for creation of marketing materials.
  • Manage the development and/or maintenance of marketing communication tools to include graphics, booths, flyers, giveaways, catalog, technical sheets, power point presentations, etc to increase market knowledge and awareness and to promote the sale of company products.
  • Collaborate with e-marketing manager and other Marketing personnel to manage website and insure alignment of content and messaging.  Monitor activity on a regular basis. Keep information current.
  • Develop and manage PR opportunities to include posters, presentations, speaking engagements, press releases, editorials in industry journals, sponsorships and joint marketing to maximize exposure to market.
  • Manage corporate identity, including logo, in all marketing materials in order to present a consistent corporate image of quality and build visual recognition.
  • Ongoing review of marketing processes and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Visit key customers to promote long term relationships and networking contacts.
  • Travel with field sales organization on a routine basis in order to assist in the acquisition of new business and to develop first hand experience of current needs and opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Mandatory:

    • B.S. Degree – Health Sciences, Marketing or Business
    • MANDATORY 5-10 years Marketing Communications experience in Diagnostics, Therapeutics or Lab Services (Understanding of hospitals and the healthcare industry)
      • Have worked with Project Managers, Vendors and PR
      • Has built customer collateral and supported content management
    • Leadership experience on projects and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, simultaneous, complex tasks and meet deadlines
    • Ability to prioritize and drive to results with high emphasis on quality
    • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
    • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence those outside of span of control

    Preferred:

    • Advanced degree -  MBA, MS, PhD preferred
    • Greenbelt or Black belt certification a plus

 Compensation

  • Estimated Salary Range:   ~ $110-120K+ (commensurate with experience)

  • Bonus Target:                   15% of base salary 

 

Travel

  • 20%.
