Scope of Responsibility
The Sr. International Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and deciding on product priorities including strategic issues relating to products. The scope of decision-making has a great bearing on sales, profits and market share in all markets, and therefore has both long and short-term effects. The incumbent acts as the motivating "Champion" to ensure new and in-line products are continuously managed to be state-of-the-art and profitable and that they meet the quality, performance and service requirements of the competitive environment. As such, he/she interacts intensively with R&D, QA, Regulatory, Sales, Affiliate Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Financial and Legal Functions. The incumbent will have frequent contact with key market leaders, and will travel as required to support the commercial needs. The position ensures effective management of company ’s Hepatitis C Viral Load Therapy products worldwide from market needs, product development, pre-clinical/clinical, health economics, launch, through modifications, to eventual life cycle retirement.
It is the nature of the incumbent's responsibilities that successful product introductions will depend largely on the incumbent's efforts in planning, coordinating development and developing a receptive market environment. To this end, he/she will interact directly with key opinion leaders, scientific notables and trendsetters worldwide.
The incumbent must have a working knowledge of the principle areas and role of Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Planning, R & D, QA/RA and Business Development.The incumbent will:
- Identify and manage company ’s consultative relationships as appropriate
- Participate in an executive capacity at major industry and professional association meetings and seminars.
- Establish close relationships with major thought leaders throughout the U.S.
- Ensure new business and product opportunities are identified in the Strategic Plan.
Qualifications
B.S. in business or life sciences. Advanced degrees (Masters and/or MBA in marketing) are strongly preferred.
Mandatory 5+ years of previous and progressive experience in sales, marketing, sales management and/or other diverse experiences in the in-vitro Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry. Must understand the Global market drivers and dynamics extensively
Mandatory 2+ years of previous experience and global responsibility for Marketing. Experience and performance excellence with direct affiliate & distribution commercial organizations.
Virology (Hepatitis or Infectious Diseases) experience and Nucleic Acid Testing/PCR/Amplified Technology experience strongly preferred.
Global Matrix Management experience; Marketing, Sales, R & D, Product Development, Regulatory/Quality, Project & Program Managers, Country Managers/GM’s, Commercial Sales Organizations, etc.
Mandatory global marketing experience with a heavy emphasis on areas above, lifecycle management, product development, portfolio planning, market research, market strategy, market segmentation and tactical commercial execution. Proven track record of achievement.
Management of complex projects with ambitious milestones in high pressure circumstances. Experience with projects that required activity/milestone achievement to launch the product.
Market-relevant experience of diagnostic area, including the competitive landscape and Key Opinion Leaders is strongly preferred.
Must have the ability to segment markets and customers and previous successful record of achievement in developing global marketing and sales strategies to optimize existing product market penetration, introduce new products and capitalize on opportunities.
Prior extensive experience in Marketing/Business Plan development & execution, distribution channels, planning, forecasting, monitoring market share and customer satisfaction and measurement against P&L goals. Should have an ability to establish systems to measure success of all programs and training directed to the sales organization.
Excellent leadership and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix environment. Experience challenging Sr. leadership in relation to data and resources.
Ability to hire, develop, motivate and retain top employees within scope of responsibility. Previous Performance Management experience and demonstrated excellence.
Compensation
Base Target - $125K – $145K
Bonus Target – 15% of base at plan (capped at 150% of target)
Relocation - Yes, full with potential mortgage subsidy
Travel
