Scope of Responsibility
Business Development and Relationship Management: Lead and manage collaborative relationships to develop companion diagnostics and perform contract laboratory services with pharmaceutical accounts focused on cancer therapeutics. The individual will provide a direct hands-on role to identify opportunities, create contacts and generate and secure agreements with senior-level pharma/biotech managers and technology decision makers and program managers.
The Business Development Senior Manager will engage and manage the relationship with the pharmaceutical company’s development and clinical teams in order to understand their biomarker strategy, create and execute a business development plan and utilize an account management process to track progress in generating new accounts and expanding existing business to secure companion diagnostics. The candidate will organize, communicate, and facilitate engagement at multiple levels in the account as well as within the company, both at a scientific and business capacity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Previous experience and an understanding of pharma and diagnostic industry needs related to biomarker discovery and validation and assay development strongly preferred, esp. in oncology and pathology.
- Strong consultative selling skills – ability to explore and identify specific customer needs that company’s capabilities can meet.
- Strong planning skills, esp. business plan development. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Market and competitive knowledge would be an asset.
- Develop and maintain positive relationship with pharmaceutical companies.
- Represents TDx strategy and product offering.
- Understands and secures biomarker strategies.
- Position TDx to provide solutions for the biomarker strategy.
- Project manage customer and plan.
- Manage various customer contracts.
Qualifications
- Ph.D in Life Sciences, preferably with a combination of research and industry experience equaling a minimum of 7 years concentrated experience in biomarker business development in the field of cancer biology.
- Master in Life Sciences with 7 - 10 years direct experience.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical product development for cancer therapeutics.
- Proven consultative influencing skills.
- Demonstrated success in sales and business development.

Total Compensation - Commensurate with experience (Base and Bonus)
