Position Title: Vice President, Managed Care

Scope of Responsibility

The Vice President of Managed Care is responsible for all of the Company’s managed care operations. They will work closely with the Company’s physician stakeholders, Executive Operating Committee, Innovent Oncology, company credit & treasury, company legal CSA business development, as well as other relevant departments to ensure successful achievement of commercial

  • This key leadership role develops and executes the Company’s managed care strategy and policy.
  • Identifies and monitors competitor strategies within the provider community related to reimbursement trends and contracting
  • Establishes corporate agreements with manage care companies that are ideally multi-year and at a premium rate
  • Represents the company with payers, industry, professional groups and public officials at a national level.
  • Advises executive management, physicians and other staff concerning the managed care environment at the state and national level. 
  • Directs the development and training of all managed care staff  and general managed care training for the company
  • Directs all pricing and decision support efforts for the company related to managed care agreements including the recommended fee schedule and managed care and public policy pricing strategy and analysis.
  • Contributes to corporate strategic planning and new product development.
  • Insures the continual acquisition and development of a team of “game changing” associates that will lead company into the best possible long term relationships with the payer community.

 

Qualifications

  • The candidate needs to have a BS in Business or Science, MBA preferred.
  • Energetic leader that has a strong experience base within the healthcare payer and provider community. 

  • Dynamic leader that brings a proven track record of insightful interaction within a physician based community.   The development of trust within the company's physician community will be paramount to effective leadership within the organization.

  • This individual will have demonstrated ownership vision that invests for outcomes.  They will be able to illustrate their past success in context with specific examples of investing the hours and the passion required by individual situations to insure success.

  • They are intentional ambassadors that see their relationships with other leaders in the organization as an important element of their personal success and the success of the team within a matrix environment.

  • He or she will have demonstrated their propensity to use pro-active planning and execution to ensure successful management of their organizations initiatives.  Action orientation with real “hands in the clay” involvement will be essential to success.

  • They must have the proven ability lead the investigation and analysis required to demonstrate stakeholder value in a way that they can command premium price/term contracting initiatives.

  • They can clearly demonstrate the ability, talent, commitment and ambition to assume increased scopes of responsibility within organization.  They will update and participate in discussions within the Company’s Executive Operating Committee on a routine basis so it is imperative that they lead through presence as well as action to influence those around them.

 

 Compensation

  • Base Salary:    $180K – 220K

  • Bonus:              30% of base

  • Relocation:      As appropriate

 

 Travel

  • 30-50%
